1. A Day at the Beach!

5. History and the Mayan Ruins
The Mayan Empire dates back to approximately 350 B.C. Many incredible ruins structures still exist including Xunantunich, which means Maiden of the Rock, which was once a ceremonial center. Perhaps one of the oldest sites is Cahal Pech. It is thought to have been abandoned between 800 and 900 A.D.
6. Take a Real Adventure
The Actun Tunichil Muknal, located near San Ignacio, is an archeologist’s dream site. Also known as the Cave of the Crystal Sepulcher, it is filled with skeletons and other Mayan artifacts. This amazing place is located in the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve, and access to it involves hiking and deep water wading, but the reward at the end is well worth it.
7. Experience the Cultures of Belize
Belize is a small country, but its cultural influences are broad. Many Belize residents hail from places such as China, Europe and Lebanon to mention a few. Together with native Belizeans, they are proud to share their wonderful customs with all who visit.
8. Take the Lost Canopy Tour
Tour guides provide historical facts about Belize before the start of your incredible zip line adventure. You will glide through the breathtaking rainforest before landing on a rock ledge and rappelling to the ground below.
9. See the Waterfalls up Close
Bocawina National Park lies in the center of a rainforest. It is home to the Bocawina and Antelope Waterfalls among others. Visitors can hike and even rappel down the falls for a truly wet and memorable experience.
10. Visit a Native Village
Dangriga is a typical village in southern Belize and is considered the country’s cultural capital. Here visitors are exposed to Garifuna music and dance, adapted from an African style brought to Belize beginning in 1731. Drum beat patterns are at the core of this genre.
